Thoughts

Main Core: 54 cards Side Core: 3 cards

Main removal is starting to crop up more, and Thoughtseize is increasing as well. Daze increasing tells me that the format is going fast. But the best amount of Dazes to have is one less than your opponent thinks you have.

If you, like me, thought "Three copies of Soul Rend?!?", Tsubasa_Cat reasoned that there would be a large number of Initiative in the tournament, and this preparation would pay off. (Apparently the card was never drawn in the tournament. Alas.) Removal on is down this week, most people opting for creatures instead.
Esper Saga and Aggro Shops did do well this weekend. Shock. Doomsday was not played much, mind, but hey, my gut called it. Granted, Bazaar decks also did fairly well, and those can be quite the challenge for Doomsday, especially PitchVine.
Speaking of Bazaar, Enrichetta chose no Leylines, but also faced one deck sporting it. It is still wonderful to see lists trying to not play it. Leyline of the Void still feels like a crutch in a world of more Rootwallas than Ichorids.
